The AHF: 50 Years of Transforming Heritage

In 2026, the Architectural Heritage Fund (AHF) will celebrate our 50th Anniversary, having supported 2250+ projects and £95+ million in loans and £45+ million awarded in grants . The anniversary comes at an opportune moment, as our activity level and profile have risen significantly in the past 5-10 years. We hope to capitalise on the anniversary to put our organisation on forward-looking footing for the next 50 years. In particular, our 50th goals are to: broaden public awareness of our work; increase regular and legacy giving; raise £2 million into our endowment, principally from our existing major funders; and build a programme of major gift philanthropy. If we can succeed in these goals, the AHF will be better placed to continue supporting hundreds of heritage projects each year with early-stage grants, loans and advice – many of which projects will develop into projects delivering against NLHF’s four investment principles.
