The Heritage of Portsmouth Cathedral's Centenary

To create a space within the Grade 1 listed Portsmouth Cathedral to celebrate the heritage of our 100-year history as a Cathedral by 2027. We want to make this space, and our heritage more accessible to local communities and visitors, and better showcase our place in the city's 100-year history and our broader 850-year history as a place of worship, in partnership with other heritage organisations. We want to install new museum-quality display cases to share some of our un-displayed treasures and accept loaned, highly valuable items connected to our heritage. We want to install new digital visitor interpretation screens to engage new and more diverse audiences in our heritage and create a range of high-quality, interactive digital tools. We want to commission a new welcome & information desk to give visitors to our free-to-enter space the best first impression and as a hub for our volunteer tour guides.
