The Hive: Survive to Thrive
The Hive: Survive to Thrive is the next step in the development of The Hive in Nenthead. Having rescued the Grade II former Methodist Chapel from dereliction, we reopened as a community facility/visitor café in late 2019. The impacts of COVID, rampant inflation and the cost of living crisis has impacted on our ability to continue as a professionally run café/visitor centre. We need breathing space and some support to refocus The Hive as a community-led, volunteer-run operation. Our vision is simple. By the end of the project we will have developed a programme of events, generated local and regional interest in hire of the space and will have a strong team of 25 plus volunteers able to manage the week-to-week operation of The Hive and the strategic management of the company. We will be a more resilient organisation and will have moved from survive mode into thrive mode.
