The Marbles Creative Hub (Phase 1), Portsoy

Through this project we plan to achieve the first phase of the Marbles Creative Hub Project, which will see the iconic, category A listed Marble Warehouse (or Corf House) at the Old Harbour in Portsoy, brought back into productive use. This represents a significant step in the regeneration of Portsoy Harbour with long-lasting community benefits. The building dates from 1765 and was designed by John Adam. The Portsoy Marble Shop is on the lower ground floor with an artisan continuing the centuries old tradition of creating items from Portsoy Marble on the upper ground floor. The rest of the building is vacant and semi-derelict. The Corf House was one of 10 historic buildings left to the North East Scotland Preservation Trust (NESPT) in the will of the late Thomas Burnett-Stuart. The Creative Hub will conserve the building and provide much needed studio space and workshops for people working in the creative industries.
