The Netty Project ('Netty' being a Geordie slang word for 'toilet')

We plan significantly to upgrade the facilities of our Grade II listed Victorian Church building. The vision is to make the building more welcoming, and of greater use, to our wider community. The church building currently has no toilets or baby-change facilities, and this makes life difficult for elderly people and young families alike. We plan to install two toilets, one of which will be fully accessible. Wheelchair users are currently confronted by two stone steps up into the building. We plan instead to install ramped access into the building. The church currently has no kitchen. We plan to install a kitchen. This will enable us, for example, better to serve as a concert venue for the local community. A media room will better house our livestreaming equipment. We are glad to be able e.g. to livestream funeral services to New Zealand. Our most-watched service had 30,000 views.
