The Old Market @ 200

To explore, learn, capture and communicate the 200 year heritage of The Old Market in Hove (and wider Brunswick Town Development). This anniversary falls in 2025, alongside a significant development for the Old Market (becoming a registered charity) and represents a significant milestone for the organisation to reflect on it's past, and re/connect with local communities, audiences, artists and stakeholders. We will: - work with a local historian to better understand the history of our building and its place in the local community; - work with local street artists to communicate the changing uses of the building through murals co-created with local groups (with associated information pannels); - Capture our local communities oral histories of the space throughout the years to create a digital sound installation around the building; - Host a 'birthday' community event with our direct neighbours to celebrate the 200th birthday of The Old Market.
