The Restoration of St.John's Killingworth's Postill Organ as part of 'The Way Forward - Communicare Centre for the 21st Century'

The project will see the restoration of our church organ, which was built by Robert Postill of York and is Listed as Grade 2 Star. The project will include the relocation of the organ onto a new mezzanine floor. This will be installed as part of a wider scheme to make space to add kitchen and toilet facilities with the refurbishment of the church building. With the facilities we will be able to make the building suitable for wider community use and enable the promotion of awareness of the organ and its use by organists for recitals, teaching, experience and general enjoyment. The project will be the last step in the wider addition of facilities with the relocation of the restored organ and the fulfilment of substantial preparatory work already funded by the Parish to enable the submission of the detailed, now approved proposals.
