The Rose and Crown Inn, Nympsfield: Rescuing 340 Years of Cotswold Heritage

Our vision is to secure the future of the Rose & Crown Inn (c.1756) as a vibrant, community-owned heritage asset once again serving as the heartbeat of Nympsfield. We will execute a conservation-led restoration to transform this "building at risk" into a sustainable multi-purpose hub. By reinstating the Inn with a community café, village shop and traditional pub, we will create an inclusive social space that tackles rural isolation. Our goal is to transition from a "rescue group" to a resilient long-term steward, ensuring the building’s 340-year history is preserved and shared. We will install a permanent Heritage Display and digital archive to connect residents and visitors with the Inn’s storied past. We aspire to create a model for heritage-led rural regeneration that is carbon-conscious, financially self-sufficient, and accessible to all - preserving our historic pub not just as a building, but as a living community institution.
