Historic Buildings

The United Reformed Church (URC), Barton Renewed

Through the project at the United Reformed Church (URC) the custodians will gain an accurate understanding of the current condition of the site and a sustainable community use will be determined. The building is Grade II* and on Historic England’s Heritage at Risk register, through updated structural and condition surveys an informed approach to future repair works, specifications, and costings for the repairs will be guaranteed. An options appraisal and feasibility study will look at opportunities for beneficial community uses, whilst a community audit will be used to see what engagement will benefit the community. This will allow for an informed approach to the next phase of comprehensive repair works, personalised not only by the condition but most effective usage. This in combination with the emergency repairs will safeguard the site until the next project phase, which will be applied for at the end of the culmination of the project.
