Historic Buildings
We will preserve the heritage of The King’s Lynn Carnegie and its surrounding area through a programme of urgent repairs and conservation. This will allow for us to deliver meanwhile activities over the coming years whilst we prepare for a future large-scale renovation and addition project. This project will see us deliver a consultation programme with local communities to co-design the building’s future as The Workshop. Whilst saving the Carnegie for future generations, this project will be the launchpad to the creation of a vibrant cultural and heritage hub for King’s Lynn and the region, engaging new audiences in its rich heritage. The Carnegie building will become more environmentally and financially sustainable, our resilience as an organisation will be enhanced and importantly, through the consultation co-design work, we will build the heritage skills and capacity of local communities, making them better equipped to make decisions relating to their heritage.
