‘This is Rambert: FUTURE100’

Rambert’s vision is to safeguard and open up one of the UK’s most significant dance archives so it can be accessed, understood and used by wider and more diverse audiences, now and in the future. Through this project, we will create a unified, open-source Digital Archive bringing together Rambert’s collections and newly recorded oral histories, providing rights-cleared public access to 100 years of British dance and cultural heritage. This will enable dancers, students, researchers, educators and the public to explore this history regardless of location or prior knowledge. We will record 59 new oral histories, prioritising voices currently under-represented in the archive, including Global Majority artists, women, neurodivergent and LGBTQ+ dancers and creatives, ensuring the record more accurately reflects Rambert’s impact. The legacy will be a preserved, inclusive and sustainable archive, embedded in learning, research and creative practice, supporting ongoing public access and skills development across the dance heritage sector.
