Historic Buildings
Our project, Time and Memory at St Peter’s, Grandborough, will conserve the church’s historic clock, war memorial, and churchyard hand-built dry-stonewalls while bringing their stories vividly to life for the whole community. St Peter’s is a Grade II* listed medieval church with over 800 years of history. Through essential conservation, oral histories, exhibitions, and creative activities, we will reconnect people of all ages with the lives commemorated here. Local residents and history groups will help record memories and explore the craftsmanship of the building and its clock. The project will also enhance biodiversity in the churchyard and develop new volunteering skills. By combining heritage repair with community participation, Time and Memory will safeguard the fabric of St Peter’s and strengthen its role as Grandborough’s living centre of reflection, learning, and belonging. The project will ensure that heritage is better looked after, better explained, and enjoyed by a wider range of people.
