Timeless Treasures

Timeless Treasures - bringing the largest recorded Iron Age coin hoard back to Chelmsford will not only preserve a remarkable discover of 933 gold coins dating from 60-20 BC, but also nurture vibrant cultural connections, widen access and encourage a sense of belonging. Led by local schools and community groups, our creative learning activities will celebrate diverse voices as we explore new archaeological evidence connected to a pivotal historical moment. Chelmsford Museum will showcase this coin hoard by linking the treasures of the past to contemporary treasures through a new school’s project, community arts activities and exhibitions. Join us on this journey to unlock the potential of the Great Baddow hoard!
