Our historic environment underpins and shapes our habitats and landscapes. Whilst we navigate the climate and biodiversity crises, it is important that we also protect our vulnerable historic environment. The Staffordshire Trent Valley is a culturally significant landscape - our monuments and features tell a long story of human habitation that is mirrored in our rich culture and local stories. Staffordshire Wildlife Trust is working tirelessly to protect our fragile natural environment and valuable communities; at the same time we need to conserve our historic environment and shared cultural legacy. We will create a better understanding of our historic landscape and a sympathetic approach to conservation. We will connect people to the place, engendering a sense of shared ownership and responsibility. We cannot achieve this alone, so by working with partners, stakeholders and communities we will support research and knowledge sharing, promote independent, sustainable local action and deliver evidence-based initiatives.
