Unlocking The Vaults: Exploring the history and legacy of Birmingham Municipal Bank at The Exchange

The University of Birmingham (UoB) will deepen public engagement with the cultural heritage of its city centre venue,The Exchange through: - Improved understanding, care, and guardianship of the heritage of The Exchange as the former head office of Birmingham Municipal Bank - Expanded and accessible methods of interpretation and storytelling for a range of traditional and under served audiences - Strengthened connection to Birmingham's communities through the exploration of the building's heritage and their relationship to banking and financial wellbeing - Increased opportunities for school aged children and young people to learn about the past, present and future, enabled by long-term relationship building with local schools - A varied and comprehensive programme of cultural activities focusing on the heritage of The Exchange which will involve community artists, performers and volunteers
