Visions of Hope: 160 years of Seescape’s Journey in Fife

Seescape would like to create a powerful, accessible record of our 160-year journey supporting visually impaired people in Fife. Inspired by heritage films like the St Joseph's Services Centenary Film, we are keen to work in partnership with Fife Cultural Trust and utilise The National Library of Scotland Moving Image Archive and combine historical archives, personal stories, and contemporary footage to create a lasting legacy. The film will be produced in flexible formats - a main feature and shorter segments for social media - ensuring maximum reach and impact. We'll create a fully accessible resource that serves multiple audiences: individuals with sight loss, decision-makers, engaging potential funders and educating the public. By documenting our evolution from Victorian-era charity to modern service provider, we'll preserve social history while demonstrating our ongoing relevance and innovation. This project will ensure that the unique heritage of Fife's visually impaired community endures for future generations.
