War Winning Engineering; the innovation and daring of World War Two engineers.

In the 80th Anniversary year, this project will increase public understanding of the innovation and creative problem solving essential to the Allied victory in World War Two. Conserving a unique collection of archive, models and original anchor relating to Mulberry Harbour and making it publicly accessible, the project will develop the skills and confidence of Museum staff and new volunteers caring for our Collection and experimenting with new ways of engaging virtual audiences. Our exhibition will present a new story of the War, giving our in-person and remote visitors a holistic understanding of the skills and strategies employed and inspiring a greater appreciation of the momentous role of engineers in shaping the modern world. The project will also pilot our road to a more environmentally sustainable practice as well as providing a better understanding of our audiences as we start to plan the future of the Museum.
