Historic Buildings

Wetherby's Heritage and Sustainable Future

We will protect our future and celebrate our past, in the run-up to our bicentennial celebrations. We will explore key aspects of our community’s heritage and history, and involve a wide range of people in doing so, and in parallel we will make changes to our building that take us towards net zero. Our net zero interventions will help us to continue to provide low-cost facilities for the hundreds or people who use our historic building every week. We see the heritage of the church and town, and its environmental future, as being closely linked. Our church founders are buried within the church, a tribute to the social action inspired by Methodism. In this 80th anniversary of VE Day, we have extensive records of Wetherby war dead, and the sacrifice they made. Now, we want to secure our legacy and environment for future generations.
