Nature And Landscape
Reconnecting Strabane with Its Waterways
Through this project, Tyrone Dippers aims to improve the physical and mental wellbeing of people in Strabane and the wider Derry City and Strabane District Council area by providing safe, supported access to cold-water dipping and outdoor wellbeing activities. We want to create an inclusive, welcoming space where people can connect with others, build confidence, and enjoy the benefits of nature regardless of income, background or ability. Our project will particularly support people who are educationally or economically disadvantaged, helping them access free wellbeing opportunities at a time when many households face financial pressures. We aim to reduce isolation, strengthen community relationships and encourage positive lifestyle habits through regular dips, wellbeing sessions, environmental activities and volunteer-led support. By offering a structured, community-led programme, we hope to empower local people, promote resilience and create long-term improvements in health, confidence and community connection across the district.
