Celebrate the heritage of Burnby Hall and the life of Katherine Stewart (1872-1949), who left a great legacy in Pocklington. We will create work for, by, and with the community to share the unknown heritage of Burnby Hall from Katherine’s perspective and encouraging the community to preserve her story. Activities: activity packs, community art installations, and a celebratory event. Through a collaborative approach led by industry professionals, community members will explore heritage and create materials for the future. *Raise awareness and understanding of the heritage through creative outreach and engagement activities. *Build a permanent installation celebrating the life and legacy of Katherine Stewart at Burnby Hall, created by, with, and for the community of Pocklington. *Produce a heritage celebration day event, coinciding with the celebration of key milestones for the community including Pocklington Arts Centres 25th Year, Thunk-It Theatre’s 5th Year and Heritage Volunteers’ 10-Year Anniversaries.
