Culture And Memory
50 years of Jacksons Lane
2025 represents Jacksons Lane 50th anniversary. We seek £206980 (total project cost £231380) from the National Lottery Heritage Fund to work with new local communities across Haringey to safeguard our community building and make accessible our institutional archive for the first time. We will tell the stories of our North London communities past and present and explore the role we can play in unifying local change in the future. Our collaborative community programme will build on our legacy of environmental and arts activism to engage with and empower diverse communities, specifically those underserved by the heritage sector including young people from Global Majorities, working class backgrounds, and isolated and vulnerable older adults. We seek to cement our role as a porous heritage venue reducing social isolation and increasing opportunities for creative engagement. This project will serve as a model for effectively using our heritage with communities for another 50 years.
