Culture And Memory
A Century of Memories
Rotherham United Community Trust, the charitable arm of Rotherham United Football Club, is dedicated to uniting and empowering our communities. Guided by our vision, Everyone in Rotherham: United, successful, and living well, this project supports social cohesion, heritage, and inclusion through the power of football. To mark RUFC’s 100th anniversary, we will explore the club’s rich history through the voices of fans, players, and local communities. Personal memories, creative arts, and digital storytelling will chart RUFC’s journey from its founding in 1925 to the present day at the New York Stadium, creating a lasting legacy for future generations. In response to the divisions felt after last summer’s riots, we will use football to bring people together and celebrate diversity. Our work will highlight progress in equality, including the rise of women’s football, improved access for disabled players, and increased representation from the global majority in the game.
