A Sense of Chesterfield - Heritage Arts Trail

‘A Sense of Chesterfield’ (ASC) will research & share untold heritage from diverse perspectives, to celebrate stories that are important to our community, celebrating local pride in place. We will develop a multisensory heritage trail across the town centre, weaving heritage stories through the streets of Chesterfield interpreting information gathered by heritage professionals engaging with communities through interpretation panels, audio posts & public artworks. Chesterfield is going through great change as a result of major investment in Revitalising the Heart of Chesterfield scheme. ASC is a chance to work with the community to reflect on the past & help shape the future of the town ASC will form a distinct project within ‘Animate Chesterfield’ public art programme funded by CBC. Chesterfield's heritage will be embedded in our public spaces with themes developed by the community & help share those stories to a wider audience changing people's understanding of the town.
