Nature And Landscape
We will purchase 7.82 hectares (ha) of intensive farmland (4.18ha) and wildlife habitat (3.64ha) which sits in a unique position between two fragmented parts of the Northwest Pembrokeshire Commons Special Area of Conservation (SAC). This land will form a habitat corridor, connecting the SAC at its northeastern end as part of our wider aims to connect habitat. We will fence the land to enable appropriate grazing and open the land to the local community and disadvantaged groups at specific times of the year. We commit to converting the improved land to wildlife habitat with future surveys determining management, therefore protecting and enhancing the heritage of the site. The land will be placed into a newly established ‘Nature Recovery Trust’ within 6 months. If, and when, it becomes possible to put a conservation covenant on land, a covenant will be placed on this land, to protect it for nature, forever.
