A TASTE FROM HOME : CULTURAL TRADITIONS OF MIGRANTS (STORIES & FOOD)

Liverpool is a city rich with maritime history and a vibrant multi-cultural community m, serves as a melting pot for various cultures and traditions. Among these cultural exchanges the culinary practises of migrant communities have significantly influenced the local food landscape. The project aims to explore and document the cultural traditions of migrant foods in the city highlighting the stories, recipes and communal ties that these foods represent. The project came about after completing our heritage project titled heritage and cultures of migrant (Music and Dance) with reference number of NM-22-00758 a project which we ran and successfully submitted our report. This project will also investigate the traditional dishes and food practices. The project will also analyse the cultural significance of these foods and how they contribute and foster connections between migrant communities and the local residents through food and community engagement.
