Amplify Town Hall: Past, Present and Future

The unique heritage of Town Hall encompasses pivotal events and moments of historical significance spanning nearly two centuries. From speeches by Suffragette Emmeline Pankhurst and politicians such as David Lloyd George, to important cultural events like the first reading of A Christmas Carol by Dickens himself and performances by some of the most influential music icons of the 20th Century. B:Music believes that protecting and sharing this heritage is vital. It provides insights into local and national history, with relevance to historians, generations of music fans, residents past and present and local and international artists. We are passionate about raising awareness of Town Hall’s important past, whilst helping to ensure the story continues. This project will make this heritage widely accessible for the first time by compiling, cataloging and curating a comprehensive archive, that will be shared through the creation of a new digital archive and extensive onsite installation.
