An Animated History of Enfield

Our project harnesses the power of stop motion animation to inspire and empower young people while preserving the rich history of Enfield. Through youth-led films, participants will use 2D paper cut-out animation to create their own hand-drawn characters, props, and backgrounds—bringing their imagination to life with full creative control. In partnership with the Museum of Enfield, home to a remarkable collection of 20,000 artefacts, and select primary schools, we will guide participants to explore Enfield’s historical landmarks and heritage sites. These locations will serve as the backdrop for their animated films, giving them a unique and interactive way to learn about the history of their borough. By working with the children and teachers, we will collectively create an outstanding stop motion animation film that will celebrate the history of Enfield and that be viewed by thousands of people through a digital legacy of at least 5 years.
