Beautiful Oldham - Where Next?

Our vision is a step change in community co-produced, inclusive, accessible engagement in the heritage of our site, and wider Oldham, led by skilled, paid Community Champions. Focusing on natural, built, recorded, collected and intangible heritage identified by our communities as important, we will increase engagement by our diverse, and challenged, local communities, including schoolchildren. Local people will act to save heritage that matters to them. They will record, interpret, and make it accessible, including digitally and through activities, with a long term Interpretation Plan in place. We will improve participants’ health, wellbeing, relationships, knowledge, skills and opportunities. Natural heritage, including threatened species, will be recorded for the first time, so our sustainable team of confident citizen scientists can conserve it. We will be more sustainable, through increased capacity to generate resilient income streams, and a fuller understanding of our audiences and how to maximise the potential to attract them.
