Nature And Landscape
Following a comprehensive consultation with residents and community representatives along the A20/M20 corridor from Dover to Ashford and surrounding villages, as well as members of environmental groups beekeepers and land owners, we have listened and developed our Bee Skilled – BeeSocial project ensuring we have included what our community has requested. Our aims therefore are to provide meaningful knowledge, heritage skills about bees which are currently ‘endangered’ or ‘at risk’, help them to distinguish and identify the different types of bees in existence, their characteristics and needs, to help protect and increase bee numbers, biodiversity and help people actively engage. We want our project to be fully inclusive, we want to completely modernise our service, and our website, offering first class learning and videos about bees online, interpretation boards, a bee directory, offer Social Media for socialisation, highlighting heritage bee craft sessions and experiential learning events in the community.
