Culture And Memory
Bold Brave Wonder Women of Islington will focus attention on the stories of north London’s female change-makers from the late 18th century onwards, raising the public profile of diverse local women who have made a positive difference to society. In partnership with The London Archives and London Museum, the project will inspire and empower young women in Islington through a participatory programme of training, visits and research to explore this heritage focus. They will work creatively with other women of all ages and backgrounds to share and interpret these heritage stories, and produce new physical and digital resources to engage the wider community: social media content, a series of zines, a podcast, a walk and talk, and a final community festival event. Through legacy outcomes, public recognition and celebration of this female heritage, those taking part will save the heritage for future generations, promoting equity, and enriching their local area.
