Nature And Landscape
Bubbles and Squeaks
'Bubbles and Squeaks' will celebrate and draw public attention to 3 West Dorset rivers, the Mangerton, Cerne and Hooke. Emerald Ant, our partners and schools, want to support children and young people to be future environmental stewards, by building a greater appreciation and love for our local rivers, inspiring others to act, and encouraging action within communities. We want to equip children and young people with: - a holistic appreciation of local rivers and their landscape, understanding geology, geography, the resources and habitats waterways provide for wildlife, and the human relationships we have with rivers as places for settlement, food, power, and outlets to the sea. -a greater understanding of local history; connections between rivers, settlements and place names - a desire to reduce the pressures on our rivers and chalk streams Schools and communities will create a body of large-scale celebratory 'river-life' for 3 highly artistic, inspiring riverside events.
