Culture And Memory

Case Histories (working title).

‘Case Histories’ is a creative research project, co-developed with a core group of 20 women from Greater Manchester with lived experience of reproductive health challenges. Together, we’ll explore: -Each other’s histories of our health conditions, and the (good / bad) healthcare we’ve received. - Our peers’ histories: what else has been going on for the current generation of women in GM around reproductive and gynaecological healthcare, over their lifetimes? - Deeper histories. What were the experiences of women over the past 150 years? How has women’s healthcare developed and changed? What attitudes, research and individual people have led to change? We’ll train 20 women as peer researchers before sharing our learning via creative public exhibitions reaching 500 audiences (2,000 online). Finally we’ll document material film film and photography, creating a lasting archive. The project will share untold heritage; include diverse and underrepresented voices; strengthen our organisation; model environmentally responsible practices.
