Castle Hill at 40: Celebrating Community, Heritage, and Inclusion

Through Castle Hill at 40: Celebrating Community, Heritage, and Inclusion, we want to shine a light on four decades of local pride, stories, and resilience in Beaumont Leys. Marking 40 years since the designation of Castle Hill Country Park, this project will reconnect the community with its heritage through oral history, digital storytelling, and inclusive, creative events. We want to celebrate the people, cultures, and natural environment that make the park and surrounding neighbourhoods so special. Working with Leicester City Council, local schools, and residents, we aim to deepen understanding of the site’s historic and community value, while creating a permanent record of personal histories that reflect changing times and identities. Our vision is to preserve, share and inspire – empowering people of all ages and backgrounds to recognise their place in local history and contribute to its future.
