Culture And Memory
Isa.Connect CIC aims to celebrate and preserve the rich cultural heritage of the diverse communities living in Chelmsford. Through our Multicultural Heritage Day, we want to create an inclusive and welcoming event where families, migrants, ethnic minority communities, and long-term residents can share their traditions, stories, food, crafts, and cultural practices. The project will help people explore and value their own heritage while learning about the cultures of others, building stronger relationships and understanding across different communities. By recording oral histories, collecting photographs and memories, and showcasing cultural expressions, we will create a digital archive and a printed community booklet that captures the heritage shared on the day. Our goal is to give underrepresented groups a platform to express their identity and strengthen their sense of belonging. This project will reduce isolation, increase participation in local heritage, and ensure that Chelmsford’s cultural diversity is recognised and celebrated.
