Nature And Landscape
#Coed2 Adfer Coetir Hynafol Ysbyty (ACHY) / Ysbyty Ancient Woodland Restoration
Our vision is ‘accessible healthy woodlands at the heart of community life’. The project will open-up previously inaccessible woodlands on the Ysbyty estate in Eryri, for the community. Connection to the outdoors is vital in helping people live healthier lives and by providing new ways to connect with nature. We will create spaces for recreation, contemplation and learning, bridging the gap between people and nature. New walking routes co-created with the community will include local heritage and provide an opportunity to spot curlews, red kites and pied flycatchers in their natural habitat. Woodland facilities will offer opportunities for schools and youth groups to encourage the conservationists of tomorrow, and the health of the woodland will be managed by volunteers going forward. Mitigating the effects of climate change, National Trust Cymru (NTC) will deliver an ambitious strategy to transform our land, aligning with the outcomes of the National Forest programme.
