Nature And Landscape
The project will create a community woodland for the people of Bynea to use and enjoy. It will: • Create a resilient, well-managed, multi-purpose, diverse, native woodland, through new planting, natural regeneration and protecting existing tree and hedgerow habitats. • Provide local people with access to woodland habitats by installing a network of paths in an area with limited public access. • Involve local people in the creation and management of the woodland through consultation to design access infrastructure, community planting days and events for local schools. • Enhance the connectivity of woodland habitat and accessible green open space by incorporating existing tree habitats into the new woodland and linking paths with existing PROW. • Contribute towards climate change mitigation, water quality enhancement and protect soils. • Enhance the well-being of local people through access to green space and involvement in managing natural habitats.
