Our vision: - to restore Colby Woodlands to their ancient glory, bringing back a Celtic rainforest! The future:- a woodland full of veteran trees, dripping with golden ferns, the air filled with the trill of wood warblers and the black and white flash of pied flycatchers. A place of wonder for visitors, with opportunities to reconnect with nature. Where improved footpaths enable new audiences to discover the woodlands and the magic within! Returning the woodlands to full health, their ability to sequester carbon, absorb floodwaters and be more resilient to future climate scenarios grows; making an important contribution to climate change mitigation and adaptation. The community orchard and new plantings will create spaces for recreation and learning; where the community volunteer, take part and care for their woodland now and into the future - a future where Colby Woodlands takes its place at the heart of the National Forest network.
