Nature And Landscape
The overall aim is to improve biodiversity of the woodland and ensuring it meets UK Forestry Standards in future, upskilling as many volunteers as possible to work with the woodland and seeing the woodland contribute to the local economy by complimenting our charity's other activities. Our woodland would become a link along Sustrans Route 47 - from wodlands at Pembrey National Park, to Swiss Valley Reservoir, on to ourselves and over to Mynydd Mawr Woodland Park. Examples of consideration for the UKFS include our plans to create deadwood habitats in the woodland and our aim to restructure the woodland over time to ensure variety in the age of our trees in the woodland. The project would improve biodiversity, the physical and mental wellbeing of volunteers and would be community-led via a committee of volunteers. Events would bring communities together and everything we do will be bilingual.
