Nature And Landscape
Our project seeks to connect park visitors to their natural heritage, whilst engaging the community on our journey of restoring the park to a place that thrives for nature and people, more so than ever before. Although the project area is small, we’re ambitious with our aims, and look to recreate a mosaic of habitats in the middle of town. The heart of the project is a 700m wheelchair accessible pathway, wandering through new and old woodland, that will be managed and created in accordance to UKFS, following advice from ecological and woodland experts. Going past a sculpture celebrating local heritage, bug hotels and wildlife boxes, a bird hide, rest areas, and engaging interpretation boards. Through our community partners a diverse mixture of local people will be engaged to help us deliver these aims, whilst learning skills to help them help us continue to care for the wildlife we’ve restored.
