CoedUNO is the first National Forest for Wales agroforestry site. This unique 2-acre site improves biodiversity, woodland connectivity and demonstrates how trees can be integrated into landscapes and agriculture. We are now looking to increase the number and diversity of people engaging with the site through improving accessibility, running regular activities/volunteering sessions and installing vital infrastructure. TWIG will help maintain 1000 trees, install an access track and wheelchair-accessible paths and infrastructure including a toilet, seating, and multi-use undercover shelter to enable activities year-round. We'll employ a Volunteer Co-ordinator to run activities for schools, families, individuals and community groups. Guided by UK Forestry Standards and our Woodland Management Plan, the project will contribute to a diverse, inclusive and accessible National Forest network. It will also support biodiversity and carbon capture, enhance wellbeing through connection to nature, and foster enduring community stewardship and cultural wellbeing that last well beyond the grant period.
