#COED6 Cwmbach Community Wetlands and Woodlands

Our vision is to develop Cwmbach Community Wetlands and Woodlands into a highly accessible, connected, resilient and sustainably managed woodland that supports ongoing volunteering, training and opportunities for the benefit of the local people and the environment. The project will open an overgrown pathway, developing it into a circular nature trail, that will connect with Aberdare Canal. The project will include the creation of viewing platforms and rest areas in nature, to benefit the well-being of local people, visitors and most importantly the environment and its wildlife. A Sustainable woodland management plan will be developed, which will include the establishes and enablement of community groups to manage the site sustainably over the long term. Increased accessibility will enable learning opportunities for local schools, young people and further collaborative work with partners and universities.
