Nature And Landscape
Plannwch Y Plas (PYP) a volunteer led group, will use TWIG funding to improve the condition, accessibility, and ecological value of our community woodland. We aim to enhance woodland health through selective thinning, brash removal, and treatment of invasive species, creating a more diverse habitat for wildlife. Access will be improved by widening and extending existing paths and commissioning structural surveys on historic standing walls to ensure visitor safety. All works will align with UK Forestry Standards, ensuring sustainable woodland management and long-term resilience. The project will support the National Forest network by connecting people to nature through improved access and biodiversity. Local volunteers will be central to the project, supported by local contractors, strengthening community ownership and supporting the local economy. PYP will deliver lasting environmental, social, and cultural benefits through enhancing biodiversity, inclusive access, community engagement action and the preservation of a shared natural space.
