#COED6 Hendre Ddu - A Woodland for Future Generations to Enjoy

The project will enable safe public access into and around the privately owned woodland of Hendre Ddu. Planted in 2006 and extended in 2010 the 320 acre broadleaved woodland joins 4 existing woodlands Dolwgan,Moelfre,Gyfyng and Isallt along the northern slope of the valley of Cwm Pennant. In 2021 it was given National Forest Status and though it delivers across most forest outcomes it is unable to provide safe access to the public or physical connectivity . This project seeks to improve the main entrance track to allow ordinary vehicles to access a large parking area at the centre of the woodland. Improving primary access will make it possible to achieve broader outcomes associated with public enjoyment of the woodland by the community. Similarly, installing a boardwalk, bridge, creating a new path providing signage and improvements to the existing path network will substantially improve recreational connectivity within and between woodland areas.
