#COED6 Restoring Hook Wood to Good Health: A Community-Focused initiative.

Our ambition is to bring this beautiful SSSI Ancient Woodland, Hook Wood, into sustainable management to secure it’s social, environmental and historical value for future generations. After a protracted period of neglect, the woodland needs help to • Re-establish itself as dynamic, diverse and resilient. • Become a loved, respected, protected and enjoyed resource for its community. The wood is connected to a corridor of woodland managed for biodiversity. Without support this essential woodland-link will fall into terminal decline. We have the energy and enthusiasm to bring this woodland back to life and ensure its future. We will • Work with specialist partners to manage the wood and catalogue its current biodiversity. • Actively engage the community through a number of initiatives including information events, volunteer partnerships, digital resources, and form strong links with our local school. Our aim is to be accepted as part of National Forest for Wales.
