Connecting Communities
Connecting Communities project aims to improve the museum’s financial sustainability by: Increasing visitor numbers -The town of Whiteley, situated close by, is growing rapidly with over 4,000 new houses. This introduces a younger demographic into the area. As a result, we will re-visit our Audience Development Plan to target young families. We want to raise awareness of the museum, improve its offer for families and begin to remove barriers to visiting where possible. Addressing longer-term strategic plans - This will include moving from earlier plans and visioning exercises to more practical applications. The business plan for the museum will be reviewed as part of this work. We have been increasing income via room hire for events over the last two years. We would like to ensure our events spaces are fit for purpose and our business planning work will focus on this and other income generation opportunities.
