Dundee Museum of Transport has been operating since 2014 within temporary premises. In 2015, the museum purchased the derelict Grade B listed former Maryfield Tram Depot in the heart of the Stobswell area of Dundee with the intention of making this its permanent home – a new community resource to benefit an intentionally broad audience and an important new heritage venue and social history museum for the city. This project will conserve and restore the 1901 section of the tram depot, safeguarding and securing the future of an important historic building that has been at significant risk for over twenty years.
