Culture And Memory

Cultural Heritage Producers

A Cultural Producers (CP) programme is at the heart of the project, building on the learning of our pilot CP programme, delivered 2022. The pilot programme has indicated demand & local talent. 42 diverse applications, led to 8 participants. We will roll out & scale up the provision through partnership working also developing a legacy of a strong cross- sector network. CPs are a huge but unmet need, nationally & identified locally as part of Newham’s Cultural Strategy audit. This coherent, place-based CP prog will offer extensive cross-sector training providing routes for residents to access work & opportunities in Newham’s new inclusive economy including East Bank (est 40k new jobs) & Royal Docks. CP job is demanding & multifarious skills/networks are essential. Creative Newham & cross-sector partners - health, education, youth, education & digital including UEL, UC; Youth Empowerment, E London NHS Foundation Trust; LLDC; NCVFO will deliver the programme.
