Nature And Landscape
Through the Cynefin i Gwenynen project, our organisation seeks to protect threatened bumblebee species in Carmarthenshire, including Section 7 priority species like Moss carder bees, by creating and enhancing their habitats in 15 key sites. We will increase the connectivity, quality, and sustainability of green spaces, benefiting both bumblebees and wider biodiversity. By working with community groups, landowners, land managers and volunteers, we will foster understanding, skills, and engagement, empowering people to actively participate in conservation efforts. The project promotes inclusion by addressing barriers to accessing nature and ensuring everyone, including underrepresented groups, feels connected to their environment. By inspiring communities to create and maintain pollinator-friendly spaces, we will leave a lasting legacy of stewardship for bumblebees and biodiversity. Ultimately, the project contributes to healthier ecosystems, mitigates climate change impacts, and supports community well-being, proving that conservation can deliver both environmental and social benefits.
