Culture And Memory
We want to explore and share the rich heritage of migrant women who engage with Creating Ground’s projects through a collaborative process designed to improve wellbeing, celebrate diversity, and amplify the voices and experiences of the women. Through co-production workshops, we will explore archival sources alongside lived experiences, using reminiscence and hands-on activities like music, dance, cooking, and crafts in indoor and outdoor spaces. These workshops will shape the project’s focus, ensuring themes emerge authentically from participants' stories. Together we will choose 2 or 3 themes to focus on. The narratives will evolve through collaborative editing into a storywalk performance featuring storytelling, spoken word, and archival imagery, which will be captured in a short film, interweaving rehearsal, workshop, and performance footage to reflect the group’s diverse cultural heritage and migration journeys. The final film will be shared widely through community events, partners, migrant networks, museums, schools and our website.
