Fifi's Legacy: Past, Present, and Proud will restore and celebrate the history of Oldham Pride, focusing on our beloved mascot, Fifi the Owl. Fifi has been a cherished symbol for over 21 years, but is now at risk of being lost due to disrepair. By renovating her, we will preserve our vital piece of heritage, ensuring she is not just our past but our future to. Alongside Fifi's restoration, we will collect the rich oral histories and photographs of Oldham's LGBTQ+ history and Oldham Pride. These stories, capturing the early struggles and triumphs of our movement, will be shared through accessible podcasts and a travelling exhibition. This project will bring generations together, making history visible and understood in our community. In doing so, we will save not only a physical icon but also ensure the stories and spirit behind her legacy live on.
